Program Overview

Psychological trauma in children and adolescents can be produced by many events including death of a peer, unexpected violent events, or disasters such as hurricanes. This program will assist educational professionals in distinguishing normal, expected reactions to severe psychological stressors from abnormal reactions that require additional professional assistance. The program outlines student behavior, as well as impact on displaced families. This broadcast will discuss the range of psychological support mechanism available to students and parents throughout the state of Alabama.
