Sexually Transmitted Disease
Did you know that 1 in 2 sexually active young people will get an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) before the age of 25? Did you know that if you already have an STD, you are 5 times more likely to get HIV?
Like sex in general, STDs like HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia are not easy to talk about with parents, teachers, even doctors. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t talk about them. If you have questions, our STD site may be able to answer them for you. If not, you can search for the county health department near you—they operate free, confidential STD clinics that can offer answers, testing and even treatment if you need it.
