The Alabama Department of Public Health is unveiling a meaningful, colorful new seal. The seal is designed to recognize its mission of promoting, protecting and improving Alabama's health. The seal may be viewed at alabamapublichealth.gov/images/adph-seal-rgb.jpg
State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris said, "People and communities are central to our mission, and the design depicts what we do. The center represents the department's strong focus on the health and well-being of each person. Also, among our goals in re-branding our seal is building stronger partnerships within the community and within other organizations."
Elements within the updated seal symbolize the following:
"We want the community to better understand our vision of healthy people, healthy communities and a healthy Alabama," Dr. Harris said.
The 21st century design replaces the official seal created in 1980. The former seal will continue to be utilized until current supplies of materials bearing the old seal are depleted.
County health departments throughout Alabama provide a wide range of confidential and professional services. Contact your local county health department for additional information.
