The Macon County Health Department will host a drive-up flu vaccination clinic on Monday, November 16, in the parking lot of the Tuskegee Housing Authority, 2901 Davison St., Tuskegee, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

No appointment is needed. The flu vaccines are free and will be provided for those 19 years of age or older. Facial coverings are required, and patients are asked to wear short sleeves. This vaccine is not the high dose vaccine for people age 65 and older.

Getting a yearly flu vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and your family from potentially serious complications during influenza season. Among the vaccines’ benefits are reducing the risk of flu illness, doctors’ visits, hospitalization and even death.

Flu symptoms include fever, headache, sore throat, muscle aches and fatigue. These symptoms are like COVID-19 symptoms and may make illnesses more difficult to diagnose and treat. Getting a flu vaccine will reduce the chances of possible misdiagnoses and of getting both diseases at the same time.

For more information, please call the Macon County Health Department at (334) 727-1800.
