The Alabama Department of Public Health announces a request for proposals for funding from community organizations and other entities to be used to end the HIV epidemic and reach the goal of reducing new infections by 75 percent by 2025 and by 90 percent by 2030.
The Office of HIV Prevention and Care is soliciting proposals for the Health Resources and Services Administration’s EHE Initiative. Proposed strategies should focus on rapidly and effectively treating people with HIV to reach viral suppression, and quickly responding to potential HIV outbreaks to get needed prevention and treatment services to people at risk.
In Alabama, the EHE Initiative is a statewide effort with accelerated efforts to reduce new HIV infections within the five highest burden counties --- Houston, Jefferson, Mobile, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa; and the 14 emerging counties --- Bullock, Calhoun, Dallas, Franklin, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Russell, Talladega, Walker and Winston.
Eligible applicants are public governmental and/or private organizations that can demonstrate current non-profit 501(c)(3) status and that can demonstrate the capacity to meet the activities outlined in the RFP.
