Statistics show that crime rates are rising in most cities and even in sparsely populated areas. There is also a work force shortage with many professionals unwilling to make home visits due to safety concerns related to crime, COVID-19, and safety concerns. This training will address ways to improve home visit safety and lower the risk of becoming injured while making home visits.

Program Objectives

  • Participants will be able to list 2 things they should do in preparation for a home visit.
  • Participants will be able to list 3 things they should (or should not) wear on a home visit.
  • Participants will be able to list 3 safety measures to take while in the home to mitigate their risk of danger during a home visit.
  • Participants will know 3 precautions to take while making home visits during severe weather.
  • Participants will know 3 precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
