The Ventilator Triage Guidance posted in 2010 is no longer in effect. The Alabama Crisis Standards of Care Guidelines have replaced it. The Alabama Crisis Standards of Care Guidelines are the only crisis care guidelines endorsed by the Alabama Department of Public Health. All people deserve compassion and equal respect, and with this in mind, the allocation of care cannot discriminate based on race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, exercise of conscience, or religion.
At-Home COVID-19 Tests
The State Health Officer has issued a standing order for over-the-counter home COVID-19 tests that have been issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) or are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This standing order can be used as a prescription by licensed pharmacists in Alabama.
Podcast: Standard Precautions and Beyond
Standard Precautions and Beyond: Conversations in Infection Prevention and Control is a new podcast for the Alabama Regional Center for Infection Prevention and Control Training and Technical Assistance, a collaborative effort of the ADPH Infectious Disease and Outbreaks Division and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
