The Campaign

Get 10 is an emergency preparedness public education program that breaks down the voluminous information on preparedness into simple, eye-catching graphics with appealing characters that engage people with easy-to-remember messages. Our goal is to find as many ways into people's lives as we can to present the Get 10 message on emergency preparedness and the many resources available.

Since we began piloting Get 10 in Fall 2007, it has stimulated inquiries about replication and partnership from a wide range of businesses and organizations, from church and civic groups to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport to Wal-Mart, Costco, and Blue Cross. Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi health departments have also expressed an interest in utilizing Get 10. Our marketing efforts have taken Get 10 to Jubilee CityFest and Biscuits ball games in Montgomery, to Auburn, Alabama, Mobile Bay Bears, and Birmingham Barons ball games throughout the state, and educational conferences such as the Mega Education Conference.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said it will be recommending Get 10 as a best practice for states, and we welcome anyone's interest in partnering with us on this campaign.

We are preparing materials tied to Get 10 for such diverse groups as pregnant women, travellers, and pet owners. We will be attending various college football games in the fall. Watch for us to make appearances on local television stations and other broadcasting networks.
