Meet the Team

Hello! We are ADPH’s Office of Health Equity and Minority Health! We are the bridge connecting underserved communities and minorities to the many resources ADPH offers to achieve health equity regardless of one’s social position or social determinants of health (SDOH). Health inequities are reflected in differences in length of life; quality of life; rates of disease, disability, and death; severity of disease; and access to treatment. We as an office will act as a hub within ADPH to coordinate health equity activities and policies across programs, public health districts, and county health departments. Our goal is to use our platforms to connect the many ADPH resources to disadvantaged communities and minorities to achieve health equity state-wide.

OHEMH will utilize outreach coordination and Spanish language interpretation to reach underserved Hispanic communities as well as collaborate with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and their health centers to work with students in actively creating a Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) to afford students the opportunity to contribute to the wellness of their college campus.
