Project Name: SMARTS (Setting Myself Apart Reaching Toward Success)
Project Description
The Tuscaloosa County Health Department (TCHD) delivers pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention services to high-risk youth between the ages of 13 and 19 in the Tuscaloosa, Bibb, and Pickens County areas. Facilities served include, but are not limited to, Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center; Special Programming for Achievement Network (SPAN); Re-Direction, Education, Accountability, Collaboration, Home Stability (REACH); YouthBuild; Upward Bound; National Social Work Enrichment Program; and local foster care group homes. Curricula include Love Notes 2.0, 17 Days, and Making Proud Choices!
