Newborn Hearing Mentorship Services Grant - The Alabama Newborn Screening Program is currently accepting grant proposals to develop and maintain active family engagement and leadership efforts for families of children identified through newborn hearing screening who are deaf or hard of hearing. Grant applications are due October 29.

Annual License Renewal for 2019 - The Online License Renewal period for 2019 has begun. All 2018 health care facility licenses expire December 31, 2018. Any health care facility that does not renew its license by December 31, 2018 or renew its license and pay the accrued late fees by January 31, 2019, is no longer licensed.

Infant Mortality Reduction Summit - On September 14, 2018, the Alabama Perinatal Program hosted the 2018 Infant Mortality Reduction Summit to discuss the state of infant mortality in Alabama. You may view the agenda, presentations, and videos from the Summit on our website.

Scale Back Alabama Kicks Off in January - Scale Back Alabama (SBA) is a free statewide weight-loss program designed to encourage Alabamians to get healthy and to have fun while doing it. The 2019 competition kicks off January 15. Visit their website for more information.

Focus Rally in Shocco Springs (September 19) - The Focus Program's annual event with breakout sessions for youth grades 7-12 and adult school chaperones is September 19 in Shocco Springs. Another rally will be held in Tuscaloosa on September 11.

2018 Infant Mortality Reduction Summit - Join us as we raise awareness about infant mortality and the impact it has on families, communities, and the State of Alabama. The 2018 Infant Mortality Reduction Summit will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018, at the AUM Taylor Center in Montgomery. The summit is free. CEUs for nurses and social workers will be available for $25.
