Internships

image of internship flyerADPH encourages hosting students enrolled in educational institutions as interns. Limited opportunities are offered throughout the state public health system. Through the internship program, individuals are offered an opportunity to make a positive contribution and develop professional skills and experience. The internship program promotes an opportunity for individuals to:

  • Learn about the role and responsibility of public health
  • Earn educational credits
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Explore new careers in public health

Internship Placements

Internships are offered to students interested in gaining knowledge about public health. Students must submit a letter of interest and a resume. This will assist with placing the student in the appropriate area. Placements are based on whether the proctor has additional duties or needs a student.

Locations for Internships

Internships may be at our central office in the RSA Tower in Montgomery or at any of our area or county offices, depending on the location of an available placement.

Internships for Accounting Majors

The ADPH Bureau of Financial Services and the Office of Program Integrity have internship opportunities available. Download our flyers for details, including desired qualifications, responsibilities, and application instructions.
