Motel Sanitation

The Environmental Health Division is responsible for permitting and inspecting 34 motels and 3 detention facilities located within the City of Dothan and Houston County. Environmentalists review and approve plans prior to the construction or remodeling of new hotels and motels.

Hotels, motels, and detention facilities are inspected twice a year. Hotels and motels scoring less than 85 are inspected monthly until they score 85 or better.
