Program Overview
Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Evidence-based, brief interventions exist to help tobacco users quit and research indicates they are more likely to do so when their healthcare provider recommends it. Program faculty will discuss these evidence-based brief interventions and resources including the Alabama Tobacco Quitline, Plan First and Medicaid cessation benefits, to help patients quit tobacco.
