Program Overview

This program will discuss the need for cultural competency in health care systems, the role of cross-cultural communication strategies; new trends and initiatives to advance cultural competence; cultural competence as a learned set of behaviors; along with the fundamentals of self-awareness of attitudes towards other cultures.

Health care mangers and leaders in public health and health care organizations across a range of health care settings; primary care providers including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants; nurses, social workers, health educators working with diverse and multicultural patients
