In this training, designed specifically for public health professionals, participants will have the opportunity to explore Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and the current opioid epidemic through a public health lens. The training will answer multiple questions including how social determinants of health and ACEs contribute to one’s vulnerability for addiction and what are the brain changes inherent to addiction? In this training participants will also examine factors that are unique to the maternal and child health population including the use of addiction medicine during pregnancy.
