Child Death Review System

The Alabama Child Death Review System (ACDRS) was established in 1997 and charged with the task of reviewing, evaluating, and preventing cases of unexpected and unexplained child death. ACDRS's mission is to understand how and why children die in Alabama, in order to prevent future child deaths. Deaths of those less than 18 years of age in Alabama are reviewed by ACDRS and qualifying cases (those that may have been preventable) are assigned to Local CDR Teams for in-depth, multidisciplinary review.
