Functional and Access Needs

Being prepared can sometimes be the difference between life and death in an emergency. But, preparing for an emergency can be a more difficult process if you are living with, or caring for someone with functional and access needs.

The following Public Health booklet will offer valuable tips on how to prepare for an emergency if you are:

  • Living with mobility and access needs
  • Deaf/Hard of hearing
  • Blind/Low vision
  • Living with mental illness
  • Living with developmental/cognitive disabilities
  • Non-English speaking

Our goal at Public Health is to help all Alabamians prepare for emergencies. We hope this information will help those in Alabama living with functional and access needs do that a little bit better.
