Board Members

Alexis T. Mason, M.D. is the Chair of the AFPRHB. She is a family physician at Rogersville Family Care in Rogersville. She is a graduate of Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Mason completed her residency at the University of Tennessee-Jackson. She has also completed a fellowship in Behavioral Health.

Matthew Caldwell, M.D., is a family physician in private practice in Athens at Valley Family Medicine Associates. Dr. Caldwell is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his residency at the UAB Huntsville Family Medicine Residency Program.

Lee R. Carter, M.D. is a family physician at Autauga Medical Clinic in Autauga. Dr. Carter is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his Residency at the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency.

Garry W. Magouirk, M.D. is a family physician in private practice in Fayette. Dr. Magouirk is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Capstone College of Community Health Sciences in Tuscaloosa.

John S. Meigs, Jr., M.D. is a family physician in private practice in Centreville. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the UAB/Selma Family Medicine Residency Program.

W. Dwain Rush, M.D. is a retired family physician from Lineville. Dr. Rush is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine. His residency was at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA.
