Special Projects: 2015 Newborn Screening

2015 Newborn Screening Conference

September 18, 2015, Prattville, AL
Sponsored by the Alabama Department of Public Health

The 2015 Alabama Department of Public Health Newborn Screening Conference is intended to bring greater awareness to the importance of the newborn screening process. The blood spot, hearing, and pulse ox screens are illuminated by both health care professionals and family presenters that have seen the difference that these tests can make in the life of an infant. Early diagnosis and treatment can minimize, and even eliminate the devastating effects caused by the 30 disorders that we currently screen for in Alabama.
