Program Overview
The mission of the US Department of Health and Human Services is focused on protecting and promoting the public's health. This session will highlight key national initiatives in health promotion and primary prevention, federal directions in promoting America's health, and challenges and opportunities for state and local health partners. Capt. Royall, as Director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, will provide an overview of efforts to enhance current programs and to initiate new directions to move national health programs toward this goal.
