Program Overview
The Alabama Newborn Screening Program currently tests for 30 primary disorders, with hearing loss being the most prevalent. This program will explain what is done to detect hearing loss among newborns. Program faculty will also discuss the ADPH Care Coordination Protocol related to newborn hearing referrals, along with the significant changes made to the “Report to Referring Provider” section in the ACORN documentation system.

ADPH Care Coordination staff, nurses, social workers, clinicians, health educators, and other healthcare professionals and administrators who may provide health services to the pediatric population
