Cleburne County Health Department - Heflin, AlabamaThe Cleburne County Health Department offers WIC, environmental, home care, and clinical services to the public. Clinical services include: STD testing and treatment, family planning, childhood and other vaccines, and breast and cervical cancer screening. Certified copies of birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates may be obtained from this health department.

Free Communication Assistance

The Alabama Department of Public Health offers free communication assistance to all clients. Free communication assistance is the use of an interpreter or other communication services to assist the participant to effectively communicate with bilingual staff. Learn more.

COVID-19 Vaccine

  • COVID-19 vaccinations are given Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. No appointment is needed. Please call 256-463-2296 with questions.

Hours of Operation

Home health hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Home health staff is on-call seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Clinic and environmental hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Infection Prevention Control

Alabama Department of Public Health has implemented an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. We are based at the Calhoun County Health Department in Anniston, and we cover 11 counties. Our coverage area includes Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, Talladega, Sylacauga, DeKalb, Blount, Cherokee, Etowah, Randolph,St. Clair and Shelby. Our team coordinates disease outbreak clinics, provides employee health services and collaborates with community agencies to provide infection prevention outreach and education. We offer COVID testing and result reporting, mass vaccination clinics (Hep A, Flu, COVID). We can assist in promoting and providing health education on emerging diseases and outbreaks.
