Free Communication Assistance

The Alabama Department of Public Health offers free communication assistance to all clients. Free communication assistance is the use of an interpreter or other communication services to assist the participant in effectively communicating with bilingual staff. Learn more.

Infection Prevention Control

Alabama Department of Public Health has implemented an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. We are based at the Calhoun County Health Department in Anniston, and we cover 11 counties. Our coverage area includes Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, Talladega, Sylacauga, DeKalb, Blount, Cherokee, Etowah, Randolph, St. Clair, and Shelby. Our team coordinates disease outbreak clinics, provides employee health services, and collaborates with community agencies to provide infection prevention outreach and education. We offer COVID testing and result reporting, as well as mass vaccination clinics (Hep A, Flu, COVID). We can assist in promoting and providing health education on emerging diseases and outbreaks.
