Youth Athletic Training Resources
With the passing of HB 9. Act 2018-0496, any unpaid or volunteer coach or trainer associated with under 14 youth athletics associations of the state, or a political subdivision of the state, that sponsors or conducts any high-risk youth athletics activity where there is a likelihood that a child or youth can sustain a serious injury are required to take a course to reduce the likelihood of a child being injured.

Request for Proposals for Coach Safety Database
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) is currently accepting proposals to identify a qualified vendor to design, develop, and implement enhancements to the Coach Safety Database in compliance with the Alabama Coach Safety Act. This project will build upon the current data infrastructure to create a robust, secure, and user-friendly system that ensures compliance with the Alabama Coach Safety Act. The enhanced database must capture all required training elements for every certified coach, support comprehensive and customizable reporting, and streamline certification management for organizations statewide.
Funding contingent on resources; ADPH may award full, partial, or no funding.
Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Documented experience implementing similar database projects.
- Proven track record in delivering compliant, secure technology solutions.
- Ability to leverage existing data set.
- Commitment to ongoing maintenance and support.
