ALL Kids

Free or low-cost healthcare coverage is available to all eligible children under 19 years. This healthcare coverage is provided by ALL Kids or Medicaid. For more information or to apply online, visit ALL Kids.

Cancer Detection

Patients can obtain Pap Smears, breast examinations, and self examination instructions. Help in finding treatment for cancer is also available.

Child Health

• Healthcare for individuals from birth to age 21 is offered through the Well Child and Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) programs.
• Alabama Newborn Screening Program - Alabama law requires all newborns to be tested for phenylketonuria (PKU), hypothyroidism, galactosemia, and hemoglobinopathies (includes sickle cell disease), unless the parents have religious objections. The program's goal is to prevent disability and death through early detection and treatment of these problems.
• Infant and child car safety seats are available to be borrowed and used free of charge.

Diabetes

We provide screening for high-risk groups. Counseling, information, and educational materials are available.

Family Planning

Birth control information, medical exams, and supplies are available. We provide family planning methods, counseling, and education.

HIV/AIDS

We offer confidential information, testing, counseling, social work services, home care, and referrals to other support services in the community.

Home Health and Alternative Services

Medicare-certified home services are provided. Skilled nursing and personal care are available, and most patients also have access to medical social work and therapy services with doctor's orders. Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurances cover home health care; a sliding-scale fee covers the medically indigent. Learn more about our Home Health and Life Care Services.

Hypertension

This program seeks to reduce illness and death associated with uncontrolled hypertension through screening, referral, and patient management targeted toward Alabama's medically indigent population. Jointly managed patients receive medication, monitoring, and counseling on referral from their physician. Full-managed patients receive physicals, ECG's, and lab profiles, in addition to medication, monitoring, and counseling.

Immunizations

Immunizations to prevent childhood diseases are available. Children should have these immunizations from age 2 months through 6 years, with additional immunizations as needed. A certificate of immunization, or blue slip, is provided for children to enter all day care centers and public and private schools.

Immunizations for adults for measles, pneumonia, tetanus, flu, and other diseases are also available.

Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)

Confidential testing, treatment, and counseling for most sexually transmitted diseases are available.

Social Work Services

Social workers are available to assist patients in finding help for health care needs, jobs, family problems, drug and alcohol abuse, food, and housing.

Tuberculosis

Tuberculin skin tests, sputum tests, and X-rays (if indicated) are available to anyone for diagnosis & treatment of tuberculosis. Medications are provided if indicated. We test high risk individuals, contacts to TB, and suspects for active TB disease. We do not perform tests for TB on persons for their job or school. Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Nutritious food and nutrition education services are available for free to limited-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 who qualify for WIC, the supplemental food program for women, infants, and children.
