Do I need to list those in my household on my application even if they currently have health insurance?

Yes, if someone in your household currently has health insurance they need to be listed on your application as a part of your household make-up.

Who is a tax filer?

An individual who files a tax return and does not expect to be claimed as a tax dependent on someone else's return.

Can my 18 year-old college student apply?

Yes, if student is full-time the parental income has to be counted in determining eligibility. Please note that coverage ends when student turns 19 years old.

Can parents apply when there is shared joint custody?

Yes, documentation may be requested outlining custody details.

What if my child has other insurance?

The ALL Kids program provides coverage for children that are uninsured. A child cannot be approved for ALL Kids if they have other comprehensive health coverage. If the child is pregnant and has other coverage which does not include dependent maternity care, contact ALL Kids customer service.

What if I have dropped other insurance?

ALL Kids provides coverage for children who are not covered by other insurance. There is no longer a three month waiting period for voluntarily dropped coverage.

How long will it take to receive my insurance cards once I submit an online application?

Once your application is processed, if determined eligible, you should receive the insurance card within 7-10 days.

Can I have other insurance and be eligible for ALL Kids?

ALL Kids provides coverage for children who do not have other comprehensive health insurance. A child can have a vision or dental only policy.

How long will it take to complete the online application?

Completion times may vary, please allow approximately 30-45 minutes.

Can I apply online for my newborn without the Social Security Number?

You can apply for coverage for your newborn before you receive a Social Security Number, however, please provide the number to a ALL Kids customer service representative at 1-888-373-KIDS(5437) once you receive it.

How often can I submit an online application?

You can submit an online application once every 30 days.

How long will my child have coverage after being approved for ALL Kids?

Children receive 12 months of coverage with ALL Kids, unless they turn 19 or move out of the state. Coverage must be renewed annually.

Can I apply for ALL Kids while pregnant?

You may apply for ALL Kids while pregnant. If you have other health insurance but it does not cover dependent maternity care, contact the ALL Kids customer service line at 1-888-373-KIDS(5437)

How long does it take to process a paper application after it has been received by ALL Kids?

Processing time varies, however applicants will be notified by mail once application has been processed.

How do I pay my premium?

You can mail in your premium payment to the following address: ALL Kids P.O. Box 304839, Montgomery, Alabama 36130-4839. Your child's premium does not have to be paid in full in order to use the healthcare coverage. The balance of your premium can be found on your renewal form.

Can I apply for ALL Kids for a child if I am not the legal guardian?

You can apply for ALL Kids for a child even if you are not the parent or legal guardian if the child resides with you full time.

What do I need to enter for my newborn's Social Security Number to complete the online application?

You may leave it blank on your application. Call us and update it as soon as you receive the Social Security card.

How do I apply for ALL Kids?

You can apply for ALL Kids online or with a paper application. See our section on "Apply Now" to apply online. You can also mail in a paper application for processing. You can pick up a paper application at the local Health Department or print one to submit by mail or fax.

I forgot my user name and password?

If you forgot your username or password, click on the "Forgot your Username or Password" link. You will need to use the email address or username that was used when you created the account. If you created an online account prior to January 01, 2014; you will need to create a New Account.

Are braces covered by ALL Kids?

Orthodontia services are only covered for limited conditions.

Who provides this health coverage?

ALL Kids has contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and uses their preferred provider network.

When does coverage begin?

If approved, coverage will begin the first day of the month after the application is received.

What if I am not a U.S. citizen but my child is?

Your children can receive ALL Kids coverage as long as they meet the other eligibility rules.

What if my child has a pre-existing condition, disability, or chronic illness?

There are no exclusions for pre-existing conditions.
