Home Health Program

The Bureau of Home and Community Services is the parent agency for the statewide Medicare/Medicaid Certified Home Health Program that serves all Alabama counties. Home health care services are provided for homebound patients who meet eligibility requirements. Many treatments and care services previously limited to the hospital are now being provided in the home.

Services Offered

  • Nursing Care, including:
    -Wound Care
    -Intravenous Therapy
    -Diabetic Care
    -Cardiovascular Care
    -Post-Hospital Assessment and Teaching
    -Urinary Catheter Management
  • Home Health Aide Services
  • Occupational and Speech Therapies
  • Physical Therapy (including Post-Surgical Therapy)

Reimbursement

  • Medicare and Medicaid
  • BCBS Participating Provider
  • Other Insurances
  • Self-Pay

Eligibility

Eligibility for home health services varies by the insurance or reimbursement source.
