Clinical Services
The Houston County Health Department offers a variety of health services. These services include Family Planning for birth control and reproductive health education, Immunizations for children and adults to include international travel, All Kids Health Insurance for children, WIC (Women, Infants and Children) for food and nutrition education. Other services include cancer detection, diabetes education, tuberculosis screening, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDs testing and counseling. Health education is a primary component of every program. Clinical health services require an appointment and are provided based on a sliding scale fee system. Alabama Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program
Breast and cervical cancer screening is provided to women ages 40-64 who are uninsured and meet income guidelines. Visit the Alabama Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program for information on screenings.
Family Planning Supplies
For Depo Shots, Birth Control Pills, or NuvaRing, an appointment is required. Weekly operating hours include Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please call (334) 678-2800 for an appointment.

Pregnancy Testing

STD Clinic
Weekly operating hours include Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 a.m. The morning STD clinic is offered on a walk-in basis and only a limited number of patients will be treated. The afternoon services are by appointment only, please call 334-678-2800 in the morning on the day you need the appointment.
