Student Nurse Information

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance when providing services to patients in all county health departments. In an effort to protect the health information of all patients, any nursing student participating in clinic activities or who may access patient information must review the current HIPAA Training and Policy and complete the required electronic acknowledgment forms. The acknowledgment forms will serve as a binding statement that the individual has viewed all training videos and read all policies related to HIPAA, and that they take full responsibility for any breach of confidentiality related to health department patients and services.

You will first need to create a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) account if you do not already have one. Instructions for creating an account are listed below. Once you have created an account, under Courses, locate the Nursing Student link and complete the course. After completing the electronic acknowledgment form in LCMS, please print a copy of your "transcript," which will reflect that the required HIPAA courses are complete. You can find your transcript in the LCMS section labeled "my transcript." Present a copy of the transcript to your health department clinical contact before or on the first day of the clinical experience.

***You will not be allowed to participate in the clinical experience at ADPH before completing this requirement.
