Data Management Division

The Data Management Division unifies data from the Office of HIV Prevention and Direct Care programs, and monitors state and federal guidelines for data submission. The integrated data is used to provide support for treatment and prevention activities, program and project improvements, and funding opportunity announcements. The HIV Surveillance Branch and the Adult Viral Hepatitis Branch are housed in the Data Management Division, and the HADIS (HIV/AIDS Disease Information System) is updated and maintained by ADPH IT and the Data Management Division.

HIV/AIDS Disease Information System (HADIS)

The HIV/AIDS Disease Information System, or HADIS, is a patient-centric system that consists of the Counseling and Testing Form, Condom Distribution Form, and the Patient Re-engagement Form. Visit HADIS to see the forms and learn more.

Adult Viral Hepatitis Branch

The Hepatitis program leads prevention and awareness efforts to inform and improve the health of people at risk for, or living with, viral hepatitis.

HIV Surveillance Branch

The HIV Surveillance Branch conducts epidemiologic surveillance through the ongoing and systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to HIV incidence and prevalence in Alabama. Surveillance staff document and investigate HIV cases reported by physicians, hospitals, laboratories, and other sources; exchange needed information with agencies, states, and other reporting sources; and provide demographic data for use in targeting prevention programs.
