Infection Control Assessment Tools
The Alabama Department of Public Health, working in conjunction with Alabama Healthcare Facilities and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), is excited to extend resources to help correct gaps in the ever- changing world of facility preparedness/readiness. The CDC Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) Tool for General Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Across Settings tool is intended to systematically assess healthcare facility infection prevention and control practices in acute care, long-term care, and outpatient settings. Long-term care facilities can request an IPC consultation with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Long-Term Care Strike Team by emailing: [email protected]. Acute care facilities and outpatient settings can email [email protected] for an IPC consultation.
