Results Based Accountability (RBA)

RBA is the performance management model adopted by ADPH to guide how we measure program performance and drive decision-making. RBA is a commonsense method that utilizes a collaborative approach to addressing population health issues through performance data monitoring, root cause analysis, and targeted action plans.

Training for ADPH Staff

RBA 101: A recording of Mark Friedman, author of Trying Hard is Not Good Enough, is available for ADPH staff at no cost through Healthicity. This is an overview of RBA and covers the basic concepts. CEUs for nurses and social workers are approved for this course.

Coaching: Any ADPH program can request individualized coaching from the Office of Performance Management. Coaching is provided to the degree requested by the program, can be in person or virtual, and helps programs be more successful in implementing performance management concepts. The Book: Any ADPH staff can request a copy of the book Trying Hard is Not Good Enough from the Office of Performance Management. These are provided at no cost, but staff are asked to return them if they find they are not using the book. Please Contact Us to request your copy.
