November 2023 Quarterly Meeting
The next Alabama Wellness Alliance meeting will be held on Friday, November 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Homewood Public Library Large Auditorium (1721 Oxmoor Road in Homewood). This meeting is in-person exclusively, so please be sure to make plans to attend and network with other attendees, share initiatives from your area, and learn from our speakers. Agenda is forthcoming. Please feel free to share this event with other colleagues.
June 2023 Quarterley Meeting
Our June 2023 meeting was held on June 9 at the Alabama Department of Public Health Training Center & Administrative Annex (208 Legends Court, Prattville, 36066). The agenda included a presentation from The Alabama Farm to ECE Coalition.
We encourage our members to attend in person to enjoy the networking opportunities, but we will have a Zoom option available for those who cannot attend in person. Please RSVP here to let us know if you will be attending in person or via Zoom.
February 2023 Quarterly Meeting
Our February 2023 meeting was held on February 24 at the Lakeshore Foundation at 4000 Ridgeway Drive in Birmingham. The meeting included: a presentation from Lakeshore Foundation CEO John Kemp; an update from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama; an opportunity to sign up to be part of the Nutrition and Physical Activity State Plan dissemination team; and information on how to access the finalized State Plan to implement within your organization.
September 2022 Quarterly Meeting
The September 2022 quarterly meeting was held on Friday, September 30, at the Alabama Department of Public Health Training Center and Administrative Annex in Prattville.
October 2020 Virtual Quarterly Meeting
The Alabama Obesity Task Force hosted a virtual meeting on Thursday, October 8. Dr. Laura Dreer, an Associate Professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, shared a presentation on the impact of COVID-19 on the health and wellness of Alabamians, especially concerning the relationship between COVID-19 and obesity.
