Alabama Resource Directory for Women, Children and Families
The purpose of this directory is to provide general information regarding services and programs available to help a woman through pregnancy, including prenatal (before the baby is born) care, interconception (between pregnancies) care, postpartum (after the baby is born) care, and the early stages of childhood.
This directory does not include all the resources in the state that are available to assist a woman and families and is not intended to be a stand-alone guide. However, it does provide information on resources that may be available to provide such assistance. Every effort has been made to obtain the most up-to-date information for inclusion in this directory. Please note that inclusion of an organization or service does not imply the endorsement of the Alabama Department of Public Health, nor does exclusion imply disapproval. In addition, the information provided in this directory is always subject to change.
This Directory is provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health as required by Act No. 2002-419, as codified at Ala. Code § 26-23A-5 (1975 as amended). It does not provide information about eligibility for any of the programs or services listed, nor does it provide legal advice. Eligibility for the services may depend on a number of factors and will be determined by the agency/organization offering the program or service.
